About the Archive CD Books Project

The Archive CD Books project exists to make reproductions of old books, documents and maps available on CD to genealogists and historians, and anyone interested in history and culture. The project also aims to provide assistance to libraries and archives to renovate old books in their collection, and to donate books to their collections, where they will be preserved for future generations.

Archive CD Books was started in England in March 2000 by Rod Neep, and is now run from Cinderford in the heart of the Forest of Dean. The project has now spread to several countries worldwide, Australia, Canada, The Netherlands and now Ireland. Several thousand titles have already been published by the Archive CD group and that number is growing daily. Each country scans and produces its own books. The nature of the project has lead to the cultivation of special relationships with libraries, archives and book lovers all over the world.

The Archive CD Books project is a “user supported” project.  As Rod Neep says, “No-one loses, everyone gains”.
