The wonderful thing about this type of resource is that the names of relatives are sometimes given too. A burial of, say, John Smith in 1695 might also state that he was 'the son of Thomas'.
You might also find your ancestors from elsewhere in the county (or from even further a-field) marrying by licence in this parish. There can be several reasons for this type of marriage, maybe the parents did not approve or perhaps there was another good reason to marry quickly and quietly!
